Maltipom Temperament

The Maltipom is a lively breed who is loving and intelligent. This breed is trusting and devoted to their owners. They will make for great lap dogs and cuddle buddies. This breed may need watched around small children as to not nip at them.

Maltipom Health Considerations

The Maltipom life expectancy is between 13 – 16 years. The Maltipom breed have a few health concerns to watch for are:

  • Patella Luxation
  • Eye Problems
  • Hypoglycemia
  • Collapsed Trachea

All mixed breed dogs have a better chance of having less health concerns because of their genetic diversity.

Maltipom Coat

The Maltipom may have a single or double coat that is long and silky or long, straight, and profuse with a dense under coat.

The Maltipom coat should be brushed daily to help with matting. Clipping every 6 – 8 weeks is also recommended. Bathing this breed monthly will help to maintain their soft coat.
